To continue working in Singapore as a foreign professional, you need to renew your Employment Pass (EP) before it expires. The EP is a work visa that lets you stay and work in Singapore for up to two years, and can be extended for up to three years each time. These are the steps to follow to renew your EP in Singapore:

1. Check your eligibility.

You should have a valid EP that is expiring within six months, and you should continue to meet the EP criteria, such as having a minimum salary of S$5,000 and a recognised qualification or work experience. You should also have a confirmed offer of continued employment from your employer in Singapore.

2. Submit your renewal application.

Your employer or an authorised employment agent can submit your renewal application online. You should do this at least two months before your EP expires, but not more than six months before. You will need to provide details such as your personal particulars, passport number, current EP number, and employer’s name and address. You may also need to upload supporting documents, such as your educational certificates, payslips, or bank statements.

3. Pay the renewal fee.

After submitting your renewal application, you will need to pay a fee using a valid credit or debit card. You will receive an acknowledgement email from MOM once your payment is successful.

4. Check your renewal status.

You can check the status of your renewal application online using the EP Online system. You will need to log in with your SingPass and enter your EP number or FIN. The processing time for renewal applications is usually within three weeks, but it may take longer depending on the circumstances of your case.

5. Receive your new EP card.

If your renewal application is approved, you will receive an In-Principle Approval (IPA) letter via email. You will need to print this letter and bring it with you when you collect your new EP card. You will also need to bring your passport, current EP card, and a recent passport-sized photo when you collect your new EP card.

Renewing your EP in Singapore is a straightforward process if you follow the steps above and prepare the necessary documents. However, if you encounter any difficulties or have any questions, you can WhatsApp us at +65 8822 XERO (9376) and we will be happy to help you.
