      No, you have up to 6 months to look for a job after obtaining the PEP

      Yes, as your employer will have to sponsor your EP
      Can I change job?
      PEP
      Yes, PEP holders have the freedom to change employers and job sectors. No new PEP required
      EP
      Your EP is cancelled upon change of job. The next employer will have to sponsor your new EP
      Can I stay in Singapore without job?

      PEP
      Yes, up to 6 months after end of last job. Extension is possible.
      EP
      No, unless you have a valid Visitor’s Pass

      Who is eligible?

      An overseas foreign professional and your fixed monthly salary within past 6 months was at least SGD18,000 or
      An existing Employment Pass holder earning a fixed monthly salary of at least SGD12,000.

      (!) From 1 September 2023, the fixed monthly salary criteria for both existing EP holders and overseas foreign professionals will be raised to SGD22,500. This is benchmarked to the top 10% of EP holders.

      Who is not eligible?

      An Employment Pass holder under the sponsorship scheme.
      A freelancer or foreigner who intends to work on a freelance-basis.
      A sole proprietor, partner or where a director is also a shareholder in an ACRA-registered company.
      A journalist, editor, sub-editor or producer.

      How to apply

      Unlike the EP, PEP application need not be sponsored by an employer. C-Suite Executives can apply for it on their own merit.
